“Like everyone else, we witnessed how the pandemic took hold and realised that we all needed access to protection that works. We wanted to develop a product that we would personally use with total confidence.
Equally important to us is consideration for the environment as we move towards ‘free-from’ and ‘plant-based’ products. Our focus was to develop a product that was fully certified biocide rather than just a cosmetic grade and that was effective.
By taking our time, we made sure that sustainability is a core part of the operation, rather than be a casualty of the rush! If anything, we’ve all become more hygiene aware and we see this translating into many other product types that are part of current regimes. We’ll participate there. Anti in terms of products is a transferrable prefix well beyond sanitisers and in terms of the brand and what it stands for, there’s no shortage of things to push against. Being pro x invariably means being anti y.
As a business, we don’t want to get lost in ‘purpose’ or grand plans. We’re quite realistic about what this is and isn’t. We’d like to keep it straightforward and honest. So, we aim to make products that perform well and are accessible. In the process, we’ll be working towards building a brand that has a stake in positive change in the world and has enough activist attitude of its own to contribute to that change where it can. If that means getting our elbows out on when called for, that’s part of the package.”
