Enterprise Investment Scheme Association calls on parties to provide more certainty for business

Businesses in the UK need certainty from political leaders so they can invest, according to the Enterprise Investment Scheme Association (EISA).

Speaking after the major party leaders pitched to members of the CBI, Mark Brownridge, Director General at the EISA, said: “Business investment is stifled at present, mainly because of uncertainty over Brexit.

“We hope that this election will provide the clarity needed to allow the country to move on.”

In advance of this week’s manifesto launches, the EISA has also expressed caution.

Mr Brownridge added: “As we’ve seen from previous elections lots of promises are made, but not all promises are kept. While businesses will be optimistic about potential infrastructure projects and other headline-grabbers, they will be watching post-election comments and the next budget for the real substance.”
