Innovation Awards hope for Accountancy Entrepreneur
Mazuma is the brainchild of Lucy Cohen and is famed for being the UK's first subscription-based accountancy service, with Lucy driving a revolution within the accountancy industry from within. This week they have been given further kudos as innovators within their field as their Co-Founder is nominated for a prestigious award.
Co-founder and Commercial Director of Mazuma, Lucy Cohen, is a finalist for an Institute of Directors (IoD) award; Lucy has been nominated for Wales Director of the Year in the innovation category. The award recognises leaders that have created an innovative and transformational idea that illustrates creative thinking to surpass their competition. They must also improve commercial performance, operational effectiveness or customer engagement.
The IoD was founded in 1903 and implements a Royal Charter to support, represent and set standards for business leaders nationwide. The organisation supports business leaders to create sustainable businesses that offer quality jobs, improved opportunities, and generally make regions and nations better places to live and work.
The annual Wales Director of the Year Awards represents the pinnacle of leadership and business excellence throughout Wales. Directors from businesses such as Acorn Executive Search, Cardiff Airport, Sony UK Technologies, Hugh Phillips and GoCompare are just a few that have been recognised by these prestigious awards. Ahead of the awards ceremony, Lucy comments:

The awards will take place on Friday 17th May 2019 at Sophia Garden Cricket Stadium from 12:00 - 15:30. The event will feature guest speakers Edwin Morgan, Director General IoD and Senior UK Government Ministers.
