Enterprise support organisation provides relief to the teething pains of a new denture-based business launch

Hednesford based business share their delight at the support they received from the Start & Grow programme

At the end of last year, thanks to the dedicated help and support provided by Business Enterprise Support (BES), two local business partners were able to secure a start-up loan of £25,000 and launch their business – Chrome Design - which created two full time jobs and an apprenticeship. The support was provided as part of the national Start & Grow programme.

Chrome Design specialises in manufacturing metal components for removable dentures and is run by business partners, Michael O’Rourke and Maria Francia. The pair were drawn to creating their own business by the prospect of better employment opportunities and a desire to bring a high quality product to the market. However, they knew immediately that they would need support to set up their business.

Enterprise Coach Darren Preston from enterprise support organisation BES provided a range of support which included producing a clear business plan, securing a £25,000 Virgin StartUp business loan, as well as training days and help with focusing on future targets for growth.

Speaking about the support the business received, business owner Maria Francia Iniguez from Chrome Design Limited said: “It felt like we encountered every teething problem possible on our journey – but the dedicated advice we received from our Start and Grow Enterprise Coach was a real asset.”

Just 12 hours of support enabled Chrome Design Limited to confidently set their sights firmly on the future. They are currently busy with orders and thanks to support they received with creating a structured growth plan, they know that their business will grow from strength to strength.

BES works with a range of local start-up businesses as part of the national Start & Grow programme delivered in this area and would be delighted to hear from others looking to start up in business to see if they meet the criteria of the programme.
