Donald Where’s Your Trousers First Night Was a Hit With All Who Took Part

7th January 2021

Last night a group of actors ran through a performance of on-line pantomime Donald Where’s Your Trousers, and the producers have declared it a hit.

Ten actors, who had not previously worked together, trod the virtual boards in a Sanguine Writing House production which sought to clear-up the mystery of who had pilfered Donald’s trousers. The actors were located in all parts of the country and one even tuned-in from India. They were taking part in the first of what is planned to be many live screenings of participation plays throughout the year.

“In these miserable times where laughs are few, there were plenty of those, a few drinks were taken, singing and a bit of flirting went on and all from the socially distanced sanction of home. Thirteen people got to mingle and know each other better”

So said one the three producers who joined in on the fun.

Played from an original script written by one of the team at Sanguine Productions, the setting is an old English pub and brings together regulars and travellers who are all characters in their own right.

“This is an opportunity for the acting profession, which has suffered of late due to Covid inflicted restrictions. They enjoyed doing it and we enjoyed taking part.”

Stated spokesman Matthew Stubbs.

This on-line participation type of theatrical outing wants to give purpose to talent whilst others can join in.

Sanguine Writing House was started as a response to the curtailing of social gatherings and audiences. It provides hosted and scripted on-line productions which can be played out amongst groups such as work colleagues, sports clubs, societies and friends.

“We will be doing a lot more. It was something approaching how humans normally socialise but keeping within the rules. It was a good laugh”

TSWH is managed on-line from England and Scotland and is currently taking bookings.

In the spirit of treating mental health issues through game play a percentage of sales will be donated to the charities MIND, Hospitality Action and The Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice.

About THE SANGUINE WRITING HOUSE

This is an on-line interactive game which comes in a variety of mystery tales. It has been created as a response to the absence of works Christmas parties this year. It will go forward into 2021 to cater as a substitute for other social gatherings. In the first instance we have launched a pantomime. Participants will play a character in the game and look to find the culprit who pinched Donald's trousers. Silly but fun which is something we all need in these difficult times. Game play is seen as an effective treatment of mental health issues caused by isolation and we are working with MIND to make a contribution to mental well-being.
