Press trip offer - glamp in style in the grounds of medieval stately home

We are acting on behalf of the majestic Samlesbury Hall to offer visiting journalists the opportunity to spend a relaxing break in The Hamlet.

The Hamlet is in an area of the hall's grounds and comprises 28 shepherd's huts.

The huts sleep four, are en suite and some are dog-friendly.

Trips are open to visiting journalists with commissioned reviews. Groups of eight may be accommodated subject to availability.

Samlesbury Hall is just five minutes off the M6 at Junction 31 near to the Ribble Valley and is less than an hour to the Lake District.

School holiday periods may be available. Please see below for a sample itinerary.

To express your interest, please email james@32west.co.uk. Please clearly state your position, publication.

Proposed itinerary

Day one

Arrive at any point after 3pm and check in at our reception. Your shepherd’s hut will be waiting. Want to bring your four-legged friend too? Some of our huts are dog-friendly so just let us know.

Explore the grounds of Samlesbury Hall with your travel partners.

5-6pm - Join us for a teatime pizza. You’ll select your toppings beforehand and our award-winning chefs will cook up a treat in our woodfired pizza oven in the Italian Courtyard. We’ll round the meal off with a drink from the bar.

You will be given a firepit and marshmallows and can enjoy time around the fire at The Hamlet with your family and friends, before turning in for the night.

Day two

Until 11am - A full English breakfast will be served in the Hall’s restaurant

AM or PM to your liking and subject to availability - time to get busy at our on-site bee experience. The Bee Centre at Samlesbury Hall is a great way to spend an hour or two. Your visit will include tasting Samlesbury’s own honey, learning all about how the bees work, the importance of provenance and if it’s a nice day (and you really want to!) you may even get to don a bee suit and open up the hives.

Lunch - When you feel peckish, join us for lunch in the Billiard Room. You’ll need to book a table, so please do so with us in advance. Please be aware, however, that if your visit falls on a Saturday, the hall and restaurant will be closed for weddings.

There’s plenty to explore in the Hall’s grounds, including our animals. Make sure you swing by Elvis the pig and check out our rehomed battery hens. Their free range eggs are used in all of our food. If your visit falls on a day we are running guided tours, we’ll book you in!

Day three

Breakfast is served.

It’s time to check out and we ask that you are out of your shepherd’s hut by 10am. Subject to availability we may be able to offer a late checkout. Before you leave, we’d be delighted if you joined us in Dottie’s Wafflery to sample our famous waffles.
