Summer pizza nights launched for school holidays at Lancashire hall

A LEADING historic home is launching pizza nights later this month to celebrate the start of the school holidays.

Samlesbury Hall in Lancashire is starting pizza nights every Thursday evening throughout the summer school holidays.

All profits will be ploughed back into the charitable trust which runs the hall and makes sure it is here for future generations to enjoy.

The pizza evenings are launched at the start of the school holidays on July 25 and will be repeated every Thursday throughout August.

Pizzas cooked in Samlesbury Hall’s wood-fired pizza oven will be served in the venue’s Italian courtyard between 5pm-7.30pm.

Samlesbury Hall’s ever-popular Wafflery will also be open during the pizza evenings with a range of waffles and ice creams on the menu.

Sharon Jones, director of Samlesbury Hall said: “What could be a better way of spending a summer evening in the school holidays than enjoying a wood-fired pizza in the lovely surroundings of the Italian courtyard with adults also enjoying a glass of Prosecco or Peroni?”

Pizza with a Prosecco or a Peroni costs only £10 for adults for the special themed evenings; children can enjoy pizza and a soft drink for just £6.

Adults can also sit back, soak in the beautiful surroundings, and enjoy a glass of Samlesbury Hall’s famous award-winning Cuckoo Gin.

And you can make your visit an even more memorable adventure by staying overnight in one of Samlesbury Hall’s amazing Shepherd’s Huts.

Editor’s notes

Samlesbury Hall is a magnificent, half-timbered black and white medieval house built in 1325 as a family home. The Hall is beautifully maintained for the enjoyment of today's visitors and sits just five minutes east of junction 31 of the M6.

The current building and grounds are administered by a registered charity known as the Samlesbury Hall Trust (Charity number 526052), whose aim is to preserve the Hall for the people of the area and visitors to Lancashire.

The Trust was founded in the 1920s when the Hall was about to be demolished. Since then the Hall has been a museum and Gallery, and host to many grand functions.

The Hall is open to the public every day, except Saturdays and occasional Fridays, when it is closed for weddings.

On the site today, you will discover a magnificently preserved manor house and gardens, with a colourful history and a wide-ranging programme of year-round events and activities.
