Luxury hotel set to shine bright this Christmas after partnership with LED company
ONE of Cumbria’s most luxurious hotels is set to be a beacon of festive light this year after its famous decorations got a revamp.
The Abbey House Hotel and Gardens has struck a deal with local LED company, Lumiere, for the supply of new outdoor lighting.
In a further festive boost, the towering Christmas trees which stand proudly at either side of the entrance will be taller than ever after being hand-picked in summer.
Thousands of LEDs, along with a host of additional outside displays will be switched on and unveiled in all their glory as the hotel marks the official start of its festive period on November 11.
The ever-popular Countdown to Christmas event will also include a festive market, with traders selling a variety of handmade, artisan and uniquely Cumbria gifts and produce.
Abbey House general manager, John Horton, said: “Every year, we get so many positive comments about the hotel, its magical appearance from the outside and also the amount of effort we put into making the inside as spectacular as we possibly can.
“Because the fairy lights outside the hotel; on the trees, approach and shrubbery have become such an icon of Christmas in south Cumbria, we decided the time was right to upgrade them.
“We strongly believe in supporting local businesses whenever we can, so made the decision to work with Lumiere who have been great at fulfilling our needs. We now have 500 metres of new LED lighting.
“I can say without any doubt that the hotel will look simply stunning when we flick the switch as part of our Countdown to Christmas event next month.”
The Abbey House Hotel and Gardens has a number of events over the festive period.
Christmas Day dinner is already sold out, but a festive lunch menu will be served throughout the period of good will at the hotel’s Oscar’s Bar and Restaurant.
Thousands of people will flock to its Christmas party nights in the month of December - confirming the results of a recent poll which named the Abbey House Hotel as the number one choice for an office night out over the festive period.

The four-star Abbey House Hotel sits among 14 acres of glorious gardens and woodland in south Cumbria, just a stone’s throw away from the Lake District.
It is home to the critically acclaimed AA Rosette Oscars Restaurant and Bar which serves seasonal food made from the best local ingredients.
