Sussex business coach crowned best in UK for second consecutive year
A Sussex-based business coach has been crowned the best in the UK for the second year in a row. Marco Soares, ActionCOACH Haywards Heath, scooped the award of UK Coach of the Year after showing multiple business owners in the South East the path to growth and success.
He was presented with the award at an annual conference that brings together over 200 business growth coaches in the UK, to recognise their achievements from the past 12 months. Marco’s received the award for Coach of the Year in the South East region – an award he’s secured every year since 2012 - before then finding out he’d topped the list as UK Coach of the Year. He’s thrilled to be recognised once again for his hard work and determination which has ultimately led to the success of his clients.
“I’m extremely honoured to be given this award – I simply do my job, so this is just a bonus. This should be a celebration of my amazing clients because, without them, it wouldn’t be possible. I’ve worked with over 110 businesses in the past decade and they’ve made my business what it is today. It’s an amazing feeling to get the award for best coach in the South East region for the past eight years and to take it one step further to the overall UK award is astounding.”
Marco’s business growth coaching helps local business owners develop strategies and systems, making them more efficient and profitable with engaged teams. He works with them on a one-to-one basis to determine the best course of action, leading business owners to take responsibility for their progress. It’s the work he’s completed with his current book of 30 clients that helped Marco to secure the award wins.
In the past 12 months, Marco’s clients have seen an average turnover increase of 38% and a 30% increase in profit. He’s supported a client in the manufacturing industry to increase their profit by 300% in the last 12 months, whilst one client in the construction industry has doubled the size of their business every year for the last three years. Jim Cleaver, owner of Beach Street Restaurants, reflects on the impact that Marco has had on his business.
“The main challenges we were facing at the time we engaged with Marco related to taking on our second site, which seemed pretty daunting at the time. Our coaching sessions kept me accountable, Marco challenged me and my beliefs, he encouraged me to open my mind more than I would if left on my own and, as a result, we’ve grown in a way I never thought was possible. Our existing restaurant, a 13-year-old business, increased sales by 27% and profits by 35% in our first full year of coaching. I’ve also seen huge benefits filter through to my personal life – my outlook on my business has completely changed.”
Marco focuses on the strengths of the business owner, helping them to work ON their business not IN it. With the trophies taking pride of place in the awards cabinet, his next goal is to create 100 new jobs in the area over the next two years through the growth of his clients’ companies.
