Kent-based spray renderers and plasterers confirm tie-up for scheme which will update housing to 2015 zero emissions target standards

AMJ Contracts, the noted spray renderers and plasterers which cover the Home Counties region, has announced a new partnership with Retrofitworks, the TrustMark scheme of government-endorsed quality which is helping communities to hit zero emissions targets.

With a large amount of housing stock which still needs to be upgraded to fit the 2015 zero emissions target, Retrofitworks are assisting homeowners in updating their properties, and have now enlisted the expertise of AMJ Contracts for a trial to be implemented in the Oxfordshire area.

Under the terms of the agreement, AMJ Contracts will provide the external wall insulation which many of the properties in the trial area need. There is also scope for the scheme to be rolled out to all AMJ customers in the surrounding areas.

Given it is understood that there are still 26 million houses which need bringing into line with standards set out for the 2015 zero emissions target, AMJ Contracts expects that the new business arrangement with Retrofitworks could have immense potential through 2020 and beyond.

Sarah Bioletti, co-owner of AMJ Contracts, said: "Having adequate insulation has now become the norm rather than the exception to it. But because of the age of housing across the country, many properties still need upgrading to meet environmental targets. We are very pleased to be working with our friends at Retrofitworks, who are helping local authorities, community groups and other stakeholders to push forward with an initiative intended to improve the energy efficiency of housing. After completing this Oxfordshire trial, we will certainly be open to developing this partnership with Retrofitworks in other areas of the South and West of England."
