Estate agent celebrates World Architecture Day

London based estate agent Aucoot is calling on people to recognise the contribution of outstanding architecture, following World Architecture Day on 1st October.

Established back in 2005 by the Union International des Architects (UIA), the occasion offers a chance to appreciate what architects do, and the significance of architecture and design in our culture.

Aucoot works nationwide, taking on properties regardless of where they are, how old they are or their architectural style, from traditional designs to those with a modern feel. There is no slavish following of design trends.

The agency’s philosophy is to focus on the central importance of a home’s character. This is reflected in everything from the way photos are taken to how a place is marketed.

At the same time, potential purchasers are exposed to some truly exquisite residences, perhaps in places they hadn’t considered before.

Aucoot’s owner and director John McDavid said: “We, and everyone we work with, really value excellent design and the aesthetic appeal of a property. Some of the nation’s most inspiring homes are sold through us.

"Creativity and character are of central importance, especially when the time comes to sell. We think these things should be recognised more, and not taken for granted, so we were pleased to recognise World Architecture Day.”

The day included a range of events showcasing architectural work, debating issues and discussing future projects.
