Healthy skin care business to rub shoulders with leading fashion manufacturers at Make it British

The Make it British event, running on the 29 and 30 May at the London Design Centre is renowned for showing off British fashion designers to overseas buyers.

Amongst the couture is an unexpected buzz though from healthy bee based cosmetics business Bee Good.

Attending the show as virtually the only non fashion manufacturer for the second year running, founder of Bee Good, Simon Cavill sees Make it Britain as one of the best events for them to grow overseas sales.

‘Last year our export orders from the show soared as the same buyers attracted to fashion were equally drawn to the healthy cosmetics we produce from bee based products. As the only attendee in our area of business, and as something different from the fashion exhibitors we had a disproportionate amount of interest,’ says Simon Cavill. ‘So we will be showcasing our full range again next week.’

The Brexit delay is playing it’s part. ‘With the pound relatively week, the environment for exporters is very favourable. The delay has helped us too, as it has, for the immediate future, put off the risk of changed trading terms and requirements for the sale of cosmetics to the European market,’ adds Simon Cavill.

Bee Good has just completed an investment round through crowd funding site CrowdCube, raising over £200,000 from small UK investors, enabling the business to increase its stock holdings and in turn fulfill orders to new suppliers. The crowd funding attracted investors from 14 countries, an indication of the interest the business is likely to see again from foreign buyers at the show.
