Rest on your case: BELO – making laptops work on the lap
Three mathematicians turned technicians have developed an innovative laptop case to enable 'lap' users now to do so without bringing on wrist strain through poor positioning. Not only is it designed, but prospective users are now being given the opportunity to invest in the distribution.
KnoGno (know-know) and Rodell Design wish to announce the development of BELO, the first laptop computer case designed to transform the experience of using laptop computers from something awkward into something wonderfully comfortable.
They will release BELO via Kickstarter in early June, with the intention of raising sufficient donations to fund the first production run. Kickstarter pledgers will be the first to receive this innovative product.
There has never been a case like BELO. BELO is tough and protective. But BELO is beautiful. Slip your laptop out and BELO assumes a wedge, inclining your keyboard in that just as required manner.
Before BELO, laptops were very bad on the lap. Now, BELO forms a stable, isolating, protective interface between you and your computer. BELO hugs and grips your legs, insulating you from your computer, while making its positioning much more secure and comfortable.

KnoGno is a smalll design/tech R&D company in London, made up of a mix of 3 docs: John, Martin and Simon. The three are all scientists or mathematicians by training and have all had careers in one form of technology or other. Please see http://knogno.com for bios. They all also have a penchant for good design and with the ubiquitous role of the laptop in their and everyone's lives, they wanted to combine technology and design with this innovative product. To get there, Simon serendipitously met Will of Rodell Design http://rodelldesign.co.uk and they decided to collaborate. Will is an excellent new, young industrial designer; he's a very original thinker and an excellent maker. KnoGno with Rodell design formed the perfect collaboration, marrying a London startup with a Lake District designer, to produce and introduce BELO to the world.
