Boxcitement’s monthly boxes are helping subscribers with their mental health during the latest lockdown.

Since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic Boxcitement have been looking after their regular subscribers by concentrating on providing mental health benefits as well as their usual physical products, and subscribers have really appreciated it judging by the amazing feedback the company has received.

“Your boxes have really saved my sanity in so many ways during this pandemic. I am so glad I discovered them.”

In addition to the products sent out in Boxcitement’s monthly box, the company have also written extensive articles about improving mental health, reducing stress and staying in touch with people during these extraordinary times. In addition they have sent out regular crafting newsletters and free printable downloads to help subscribers stay busy and connected, and have also made free crafting projects previously only available to email subscribers accessible to everyone.

The theme of the boxes themselves have also evolved over the past year to reflect the fact that people are stuck indoors, missing friends and family and needing to stay busy and occupied while everything is closed. Last summer’s ‘Touchy Feely’ box included a semi-precious worry stone that can be rubbed against the thumb to alleviate stress, as well as a custom ‘Hello’ necklace to help counteract the feeling of isolation that wearing a mask can induce. Another box featured a touch-free key while another included a mindfulness colouring book with an explanation of how mindfulness can help alleviate feelings of anxiety and fear.

Boxcitement’s Creative Director Debi McCormack revealed “Our subscribers have really appreciated the caring, holistic experience of being part of the Boxcitement family and this is something we aim to improve and grow. We believe this sets us apart from regular subscription services, and we receive amazing feedback every month from people who look forward to their regular treat and see it as something to cheer them up”.

Not only have Boxcitement evolved to meet the needs of subscribers during current conditions but by doing so they have connected more deeply with subscribers and customers, and will continue to develop their offering along these lines when the pandemic eventually subsides.

Notes to Editors

Boxcitement – fun monthly subscription boxes crammed with stationery, jewellery and gifts – most of which are designed in-house and created by artisans exclusively for Boxcitement.

• Boxcitement is a creative, independent artisan-based company who create monthly subscription boxes described as ‘happiness in a box’, aimed at people who love quirky, high quality gifts - whether giving or receiving them.
• The idea is to put all of the pleasure that buying exclusive, British-designed gifts brings into a surprise package every month. Subscribers can either keep the contents for themselves or give them as gifts along with the premium cards and wrapping accessories that are included – every box is useful as well as lovely.
• Boxes follow a completely different theme each month, and will contain cool stationery and greetings cards, quirky jewellery using traditional and cutting edge techniques, simple craft projects, home décor and wrapping accessories.
• What makes Boxcitement a bit different is that all the creativity is in-house; products aren’t curated from existing brands and are made in limited editions just for that month’s box. Everything is packaged beautifully within the box meaning the experience of opening it is as much fun as discovering what’s inside.
• Subscribers also receive ongoing e-zines containing craft projects, free printables and downloads, keeping the fun going even between boxes. And there’s no commitment –subscribers stay with Boxcitement because they want to, not because they have to.
• The boxes are letterbox friendly (making ideal gifts to send through the post) – Prices are very accessible (from £16.40/month), and the contents are suitable for all ages; mothers, daughters, wives, employees, teachers, friends. We can offer an exclusive discount code for readers too.

About Boxcitement Ltd

Boxcitement is a UK subscription box company established in 2015 (when the idea of sub boxes was relatively new) - so we are one of the longest running UK-based subscriptions! Boxcitement was set up by creative duo Debi and Sean who have a background in design, illustration and jewellery making. The idea was to create a subscription box that wasn't curated with samples and mass-produced items but with items designed and made exclusively for that month's box. Each month a selection of homewares, stationery, jewellery and accessories is created in limited editions based around a quirky theme - everything works together beautifully and is a delight to open. Because the design is all handled in-house these products can't be found anywhere else. Boxcitement has a loyal tribe of subscribers based all over the world and one of the main things they all agree on is that a Boxcitement box is a real pick-me-up treat - in fact we have had feedback to say it really helps people who are housebound, suffering a chronic condition or have mental health issues, so we decided our strapline would be 'a monthly happy fix'. Our customers are mostly busy professional women, who like to have something to look forward to every month.
