Yorkshire Glass Specialists Smash it in first Year Success

Performance Glass Processing are a Halifax based business which specialises in providing cut fire and acoustic glass to businesses. Just over a year ago they began trading with help from the Business Enterprise Fund and have since expanded their operations and exceeded targets by a milestone.

Director Steve Wilson saw a gap in the market for supplying cut glass to businesses in the region. Once Performance Glass Processing was founded he had a clear view on where to take the business.

Now PGP have established a deal to become the only mainland stockist of high performance fire rated German products from Schott Glass. They have also begun manufacturing their own fire rated integrated blinds.

Such is their progress that PGP have had to invest in a new facility to support their business growth. Development Coordinator Ellie McSkimming has been at work putting plans into place:

“We will be closing our first and second buildings to relocate to a much bigger space. This will give us more room to stock a variety of our high quality glass, as well as allow us room to develop as a company.”

The expansion is due to create around 5 new jobs and promote further growth in the future.

Steve appreciates BEF’s continued service to his business. Investment Manager Simon Jackson continues to visit PGP to see progress and provide any advice to the growing business.

“It’s not just the money. Simon’s expertise and belief in us gave us the moral confidence to begin the business originally. All the planning and preparation is worth it and our progress is a great measure for how well the business is doing.”

Starting a new business can often be overwhelming. BEF also supported PGP with marketing activities and advertising to develop their brand awareness. PGP then exceeded growth targets and created further jobs in the region.

“BEF gave us the confidence to start up Performance Glass Processing. They fast tracked our application and really liked our business plan. They’ve not only helped us financially, but surrounded us with the right people, who helped us in different ways.”
