Healthcare recruitment provider believes NHS plan promises a boon to social care

Healthcare recruitment provider Carers Elite Limited has welcomed the latest government announcement of a new plan for NHS provision for the next decade.

In the plan, the government has pledged an increase of £20.5bn in NHS spending by 2023-24. In a bid to tackle wide-spread problems in the provision of adequate social care, the plan aims to reduce hospital admissions by providing better funding for more joined-up collaborative efforts between hospitals and carers in the community, including more doctor-led clinics in local areas. The plan also aims to ensure patients who are admitted to hospital are discharged quickly.

In response to the news, Jonathon Lofthouse, owner of Carers Elite Limited, commented: "We welcome the government's new vision for the NHS and hope that it goes some way to ease concerns about the future of certain vital services.

"With an ageing population, we know how important it is that often underresourced care homes and struggling families with vulnerable dependents get reassurances from the government about the future of funding. This couldn't have come soon enough, and we hope it will make a big difference for our clients in the care industry who rely on our staffing provisions."

Lofthouse continued, "Nevertheless, it is important we see action too. Without proper funding and realistic targets behind any new proposals, it will be hard to make the plan work for everybody."

Carers Elite Limited is an independent, family-run business with more than 15 years' experience providing recruitment services to businesses, and eight years' experience within the specialist healthcare field, supplying staffing solutions for home care, care/nursing homes, hospices, private hospitals and residential homes.
