Chippenham BID's Town Hosts
Back in the BID’s first official year in 2015, the initiative was born to introduce Town Hosts to Chippenham. The Town Hosts have proven themselves as an integral part of the team – providing information and feedback to and from levy paying businesses and the general public and demonstrating a vast range of skills gained in their extensive experience within Chippenham.
Working closely with the fantastic security team within the town, we are extremely pleased to announce that our Town Hosts are now fully SIA trained and committed to ensuring Chippenham’s safety is maintained – for visitors and businesses alike.
You will often see the Town Hosts patrolling the BID area throughout the day, equipped with linked radio systems to businesses and security teams to keep on top of the activity going on within the town. They keep a close eye on potential anti-social behaviour within the town and help businesses to identify and track shoplifters with the use of the DISC (Database and Intranet for Safer Communities) system.
With the launch of the Town Hosts' new uniform and a new Information Point, which can be taken to all areas of the Chippenham BID area, the Town Hosts' presence will now be heightened for visitors and allow for more interaction to share information on local businesses, general knowledge of Chippenham for newcomers and up-to-date information on what the BID is doing. This can also be used at events to promote BID business information and we hope this will become a focal point for visitors.
