Summer camps – a craze from the USA or a lifeline for parents?

I can provide an advice guide for parents on the benefits of signing their children up to summer camps and how to choose the best one for their child’s needs. There are a lot of misconceptions about the value these extended extra-curricular programmes can add to a child’s development.

Did you know?

• Although traditionally run in the summer holidays, some UK camps actually operate during every school break - some for as little as one day, with others running for weeks at a time

• Not all camps are residential, so parents with younger, more dependant children can take advantage of some respite during the day before collecting their little one in the evening

• Camps offer children from all backgrounds the opportunity to explore their own passions, from horse riding to water sports, coding and even city tours

• Despite the ongoing restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, many camps are still running - providing a crucial lifeline for busy, working parents.

Grant Smith, VP of Education for kids coding specialist, Code Ninjas, can provide a handy guide for your readers, telling them what to look out for when researching camps and how they can engage and develop young children.
