Your five steps to business ownership from CEO of the world’s largest kids coding franchise
David Graham, the CEO and Co-Founder of the world’s largest kid’s coding franchise, Code Ninjas, is offering his expert insight for an advice piece – the five steps to business ownership for new entrepreneurs.
David has started and operated all manner of successful businesses over the last 20+ years, including his own gym franchise and a coding camp for adults, which he sold to Apple co-founder, Steve Wozniak, in 2016. He believes in keeping things simple and concise when it comes to launching any business venture. David’s advice falls under the following five actionable steps.
1) Assess your skills
2) Assess the market
3) Identify an opportunity
4) Funding and finances
5) A successful launch.
David’s credentials
A programmer for 20+ years, former Anytime Fitness franchisee, and multiple business owner, David has a long track record of entrepreneurial success. In 2012, he launched Coder Camps – teaching adults how to code. In 2016, David sold the business to Steve Wozniak. He went on to found Code Ninjas, a martial-arts themed coding programme for kids. Today, there are over 200 Code Ninjas franchise centres in the US and Canada with the UK’s first 10 franchisees already on board. In 2019, David also launched low-cost, 24-hour gym franchise, MyFit18, which is already growing rapidly in the US and is due to hit UK shores in the next few years.
