Leaders in media technology join forces to develop first RDK Video Accelerator (VA) with Amlogic SoC
Consult Red and Skyworth collaborate to drastically cut costs and time to market for operators
Two of the largest and most trusted entities in media technology, Consult Red and Skyworth, have joined forces to develop the first RDK Video Accelerator to use an Amlogic SoC.
By working together, Consult Red and Skyworth believe they help operators, even operators entirely new to RDK, to reduce costs and get to market faster.
Cutting costs and time to market
Already the largest supplier of Set Top Boxes (STBs), Skyworth have developed a Video Accelerator that delivers a pre-integrated solution to operators to simplify development, cut integration times and launch product quickly. This, along with Amlogic’s SoC, means that Skyworth’s RDK Video Accelerator becomes a more cost-effective option for Operators.
The operator is in control
Skyworth’s new RDK Video Accelerator developed with Consult Red, Europe’s largest RDK R&D team, means media operators can cut costs and time to market, yet still have the flexibility to customise and tailor the product and be in full control of the user experience.
More silicon choice
The development of this new RDK Video Accelerator represents a significant milestone for the RDK community and underscores how the RDK ecosystem is expanding to give operators more silicon choice.
Operator adoption
The Skyworth Video Accelerator is already being adopted by Operators with product launches imminent; by bringing together Skyworth’s extensive STB hardware development experience, with Consult Red’s proven track record in RDK development, operators can deliver innovative STBs to market in record time.
