Caterer highlights importance of small business sector on #MicroBizMatters Day

Small food company Country Box Catering Ltd is stressing the importance of this business sector as part of today's #MicroBizMatters Day.

The event is an occasion for action, recognition and learning for microbusinesses across the UK. It’s aimed at those employing up to nine people or turning over up to £2m a year.

“It’s a great way of recognising this sector of British business,” said owner of Country Box Catering, Wayne Harvey. “Together we make a huge contribution to the national economy, yet we're sometimes overlooked.”

Harvey set up his business in 2014 with the aim of serving street food in Norwich. Today, the focus has changed from this consumer market to weddings and other private and corporate events.

Plans to expand in the future include catering for more sit-down events and opening a gourmet burger bar in Thetford, Norfolk.

Harvey is keen to use more game in his menu, and in November was shortlisted in the Small Market Trader category of the Eat Game Awards.

The company sells high-quality fresh food offering a genuine flavour of the British countryside.

Delicacies on offer from Country Box range from the likes of beetroot slaw and venison burgers to a full English breakfast, with eggs benedict and vegetarian choices also available.
