Crafty UK urges families to get creative this half-term

The autumn half-term break is fast approaching, and with the weather forecast predicting unsettled conditions, and days out often expensive, Crafty UK is urging people to get crafty and creative at home instead.

The company specialises in producing acrylic quilt templates aimed at opening up fresh possibilities for novice and seasoned quilters alike.

Andrew Robinson, Director of Crafty UK said: “We’d love you to get creative this half-term but also during other school breaks, when it’s easier to relax and enjoy this sort of activity.

“Creativity is central to what we do. Choosing the materials, combining shapes and colours and making patterns – these are all highly creative tasks. We hope to encourage people to express themselves through quilting.”

The company’s affordable quilting templates are offered in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, and allow quilters to cut out the shapes they need to create superb patterns and combinations.

There are simple sets of nested squares and other basic shapes, but also intricate stag heads, heart shapes, gingerbread men and many others. With their sets, it’s also possible to make patterns as elaborate as a periwinkle star or a pinwheel.

Robinson added: “You don’t have to be an experienced quilter to enjoy a craft project using one of our sets of templates. It’s something that parents and children can enjoy doing together, and half-term offers the perfect chance to get started.

“It’s also a perfect time of year to begin a project that will make the ideal Christmas gift. With several weeks in hand, it won’t have to be rushed. “
