Young Croydon guitar student appears on international TV programme showcasing junior musicians
A Croydon Guitar Tuition student has been selected to appear on YouTube TV show, Kids Around the World, which showcases children from across the globe playing musical instruments during lockdown.
Young guitar student, Arjun Nair, appears on episode two of the programme, alongside children from various areas of the USA, Canada, South Africa and other parts of the UK.
The show supports creative kids and gives them a platform to perform and share their interest and talent with others, keeping them motivated to learn in this difficult time.
Vicki Workman, Croydon Guitar Tuition manager, said: “As we can't run in-person jam sessions or performance events at the moment, an initiative like Kids Around the World is great as it enables our students to feel connected, not only with their fellow guitar students, but also with young musicians from the all over the world. It’s a clever way to get bored kids engaged in something creative during lockdown."
Arjun’s father, Gopi Nair, said: “It’s a great way to motivate the little ones. Arjun is delighted and can't wait to share the video with all his friends."
With musical kids unable to attend their lessons in person, Croydon Guitar Tuition has launched online music lessons for students, with the aim of not only helping children continue to learn their instrument and retain a sense of normality, but to support parents during the lockdown too.
As part of the G4 Guitar Network, Croydon Guitar Tuition teachers are trained in delivering the school’s structured, fun and easy-to-follow method through new online guitar lessons, with the outcome that many students are now more engaged and making faster progress, with more time to devote to their learning.
As well as the lessons themselves, the school is also providing additional online support and content to students to keep them busy, focussed and having fun while at home.
