City FX firm hoping to support 100 homeless people this Christmas

To help fight homelessness this Christmas, London based FX firm Currency Online Group are donating all profits for all first-time trades made by corporate clients to Crisis. It hoped that at least £10,000 can be raised which will directly support those in need at this time of year.

By raising at least £10,000, that financial support could help at least 100 homeless people in the UK get accommodation, food, warmth and other vital support services for a week.

Christmas is usually a time for family, friends and festive feasts, but each year an estimated 12,300 people are sleeping rough in the UK over the holiday period. We take for granted how fortunate we are to have a warm place to stay at Christmas, filled with lots of food and drink, and most importantly, love.

For those not so fortunate, Crisis are a charity which helps all of those people get a warm bed, some food and company as the temperature drops and dark nights draw in.

Currency Online Group CEO, Paul Brewer said: “I’m incredibly proud to be supporting a charity like Crisis this year. We often don’t realise how people can easily get caught up in terrible circumstances and end up without a home or place to stay. The work Crisis do in highlighting and supporting homelessness is a real showcase for compassion and kindness in this country. I hope our support will help even in the smallest way possible”.

Who are Crisis?

Since 1972, Crisis has provided volunteer-run centres each Christmas, offering food, clothing, advice and support with health, housing, employment and benefits to help people leave homelessness behind for good.

How it will help

This year, for the first time, Crisis has taken the step of booking out a number of hotels across London for a two-week period. This will provide guests with their own room and bathroom facilities, enabling them to socially distance and protect their health. Opening on 21st December, this offer will be available to people who have been referred to Crisis and would otherwise be sleeping on the streets over Christmas.
