On International Women's Day, cycleGuard announces partnership with the Women's Tour

On International Women's Day, one of the UK’s leading bike insurance providers, cycleGuard, has announced it will continue as a partner to Britain’s biggest professional cycle races – the Women’s Tour and Men’s Tour of Britain – for a second year in 2023.

The extended partnership will see cycleGuard lend their name to the team classification in both events, which in recent years has been won by the likes of INEOS Grenadiers, Deceuninck – Quick-Step, and Team LottoNL - Jumbo (Tour of Britain), and Canyon//SRAM Racing, SDWorx, and Trek-Segafredo (Women’s Tour).

Awarded to the leading team following the final stage, the cycleGuard team classification prize is calculated by adding up the combined times of each team’s three highest-placed riders on general classification.

Head of Marketing at cycleGuard, Alex Bennett said “We’re very proud to once again partner with both the Women’s Tour and the Tour of Britain. We believe that cycling is a safe and inclusive sport that is open for all to enjoy and by supporting top-level sport in this country, we hope that more people are encouraged to get out on their bike.”

Cyclists across the country protect their bikes with cycleGuard every year. Providing specialist bike insurance, cycleGuard offers cover which includes theft and accidental damage to bikes and accessories both in and out of the home and can be extended to cover competitions and sportives.

Hugh Roberts, Tour of Britain and Women’s Tour chief executive, said: “We’re thrilled to be working with cycleGuard for another year. This extended partnership will increase the spotlight on the races’ team classification, which is fitting considering cycleGuard are experts at working with their fellow cyclists on a daily basis. We look forward to showcasing the fantastic work they do to our races’ extensive worldwide audiences.”
