DCS & Hotshots Recognition Awards and 5th Year Anniversary Gala
Dernier Cree Sole Model Agency turned 5 last month. We normally hold a fashion show to mark our anniversaries but as this one is the big 5, we decided to include a recognition awards to appreciate people we have worked with directly or indirectly. Also to appreciate certain sectors of the industry which we noticed do not get recognised. Voting took place earlier in the year and we will be presenting our winners with their awards on the 5th of October.
These are a few of the guests of high calibre we have invited to attend the 5th of October and most of them have confirmed attendance. Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan, Jeremy Corbyn, Sadik Khan, Alan Carr, Alexander Reid, Michaela Coel, Craig David, Big Brovaz, Gok Wan, Edward Enninful, Noel Clarke, Winston George Ellis, Kano, Ashley Walters, Joe Pasquale, Yewande Biala. As we still have just under two weeks to go, that list is bound to get longer.
The event has been organised like none other as 'Originality' is our middle name. The event will also be published in various prestigious magazines. Due to the calibre of celebrities we are expecting, we are expecting to get a lot of press and media presence.
This is promised to be a very sophisticated event which will make it a great day to network with high calibre individuals and industry officials. Not forgetting to mention that we have a few guests, artists and designers flying in from around the world to participate in this event, including an artist coming from Denmark, one coming all the way from Zimbabwe and a designer coming from Pakistan.
Last but not least. We will also be raising funds and awareness for a charity very dear to our hearts - "Drop The Knife And Succeed In Life". This is a UK charity aimed at protecting the youth against the growing violence we all witness. This program will help young vulnerable kids who are normally preyed upon. This program will educate the youth on the effects of knife crime. This program will offer a chance for the youth to change their path. Most crimes are committed due to idleness and bad company. Most of these crimes start by older kids influencing the younger ones. This then goes ahead to create to ripple effect and the issue becomes a generational one. Can we curb this madness please before the next target/victim is one of our own children??. It's time this problem is dealt with from the root as it's said that prevention is far better than cure. Let's work together to eradicate this problem from the source and make the future brighter. All profits from tickets sales for this event will go to helping reduce knife crime in the UK.
A bit about the agency and founder:
Stephanie Amazigo, being the creator and executive producer of the upcoming channel4 reality series SLAYED, founder of the award winning agency, Dernier Cree Modelling agency and a Louis Vuitton model, she understand too well the trials and obstacles of breaking into the industry. Before owning her own modelling agency, Stephanie managed her own hair salon 'The Best', in the largely populated East end of London whilst consistently attending model castings herself. Never being one to settle on the hope that one day someone would provide the chance for her to shine, Stephanie took her dream into her own hands and began the pursuit to create her own modelling agency which could truly be a viable option for young people like herself, eager to get into the industry.
After organising her own fashion show to raise money for The Children’s Society Charity in 2014 (hosted by Thurrock council’s Mayor at the time, Steve Liddiard). Stephanie quickly came to understand that the key attributes she truly needed to achieve her goals were her distinct character, tenacity, passion and least importantly, her looks. She has used these talents and gifts to help a lot of aspiring models and also connect quite a few people within the industry. Some of these connections made by her, have yielded big projects as results.
