Recent demand spike:

The business has been helping parents continue their child’s prep at home by offering free support including a live 11+ “Mock Exam” which was conducted on 25th April 2020 and saw more than 400 parents registering their children. The business is also offering free mock exams on an ongoing basis to NHS and other health workers whose children are hoping to sit the formal exam later in 2020.

Supported by Natwest:

The business gained a place on the NatWest Entrepreneur Accelerator project and is supported by an amazing community of entrepreneurs, coaches and partners; all who have played an invaluable role during this pivotal time of growth.

About the portal:

The innovative platform OxbridgeInstitute.co.uk aims to fill a gap in the education sector in relation to the 11+ exam, which is used to screen children for entrance into private and grammar schools. Leveraging the latest ed-tech the portal aims to bring the cost of exam preparation down significantly. Students are paired with online mentors, each of whom has been handpicked - with only those holding graduate or postgraduate degrees from Cambridge or Oxford qualifying for the role.

The business is also developing a series of innovative ‘Brain Games’ that are designed to encourage reading, maths and analytical skills in school-children. The first game that has been developed is an adaptation of a game currently used in leading business schools to teach decision making, marketing and strategy.

Sumit Mittal, the founder of the Institute and a dual MBA from Oxford (UK) and Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (India), explains: "I believe that you can shine the brightest when you are doing something which you love and are truly good at. I have always done well in high pressure timed tests and scored in the 99th percentile in exams such as GMAT and CAT (Common Admission Test in India). Students are already benefiting from my structured approach to test-taking and the various tools and tricks I have developed over the years through my own experience."
