Dover Dieter Delivers Christmas & New Year Survival Programmes

Local Weight Loss Expert & Author Designs Weight Management Programmes to Support People through the Festive Season and Beyond

Claire Jones, 48 from Dover in Kent understands the pressures that people concerned about their weight and weight management can face over the festive season. Concerned about her own Christmas and New Year weight gains for many years, Claire has designed 2 unique programmes to support people through the festive season and into 2022 without piling on unwanted extra pounds, and if needed, to deal with excess weight already gained (once and for all).

Claire shifted her own mindset, took up marathon running and retrained to set-up her own healthy weight coaching business - YourOneLife (YOL) after years of spiralling weight gain and fad diets. Having kept her excess weight off for a decade, she now writes books and delivers individual and group online programmes to support people in preparing for weight loss, weight management and healthy eating/lifestyle coaching. With the festive season fast approaching Claire has put her years of coaching and weight management experience and expertise into developing programmes to support people over the Christmas and New Year holidays and beyond.

The Christmas Survival Programme is designed to help people to enjoy Christmas without piling on the pounds and runs between Sunday 19th December and Sunday 2nd January, giving people a fortnight's worth of support, accountability and hints and tips to survive the holiday season without extreme or uncontrolled weight gain. The programme offers participants a private social media support group, daily mailings and live/recorded videos in addition to twice weekly drop-in online advice clinics, all provided personally by Claire.

The survival programme is focused on putting an end to the vicious cycle of holiday weight gains by supporting people to stay in control and to enjoy the holidays without putting on excessive amounts of weight. By committing to less than half an hour per day over the fortnight participants can keep a check on their mindset, their focus and their eating habits. Putting an end to going overboard with eating and drinking and reducing the need for a crash diet in January. The programme aims to put people back in the driving seat to ensure they stay in control of Christmas and prevent Christmas from controlling them!

In addition to the Christmas plan, Claire has put together a programme designed to help people to Prepare for weight loss in 2022 and beyond. The ‘New Year New You’ programme runs from the 5th January onwards (for 5-weeks) and is designed as a follow-on from the Christmas Survival programme, helping people to avoid the trap of setting and failing to follow through on New Year’s Resolutions.

Talking about developing the programme Claire says: “Weight loss so often fails because we don’t put enough work in before we start, and take time to work out what is right for us. The preparation programmes are designed to get people ready for weight loss, so that whatever approach they choose to follow, they’re fully equipped and ready, having built all the right foundations so that this time, they go the distance and reach their goal, and know how to keep the weight off long-term.”

Running from Tuesday 5th January to Thursday 3rd February the 5-week programme ‘Preparing for a New You in ‘22 and Beyond’ takes participants through everything they need to know to achieve successful weight loss, not just in the new year but for life. The programme comes with a health warning that if people fully commit and are willing to put in the hard work it may ‘transform their life’.

Talking about the ‘New You’ programme Claire says, “Permanent physical transformations need to start with, continue with and finish with, a mental transformation, as it is our behaviour that leads to our results, and our behaviour is driven by our mindset. My programme works well to prepare people for all the main weight loss programmes or for any DIY healthy eating approaches.”

Offering 8 sessions, two-per-week (held online in the evening), each one costs less than the price of a takeaway for 2, enabling people to uncover what’s holding them back from losing weight and supporting the steps needed to transform their life! All sessions are recorded so if people can’t attend live they won’t miss out.

Both programmes involve a robust application process to assess participants’ commitment to weight loss/management and to uncover their current mindset - including what their biggest challenges are, and most importantly what they hope to achieve by completing the programme. Claire uses the information from the applications to tailor each programme to meet each person's specific needs and to hold the participants accountable during and at the end of each programme.

In 2020 Claire ran the Preparing for Successful Weight Loss programme for the first time, and offered festive support to her existing online group members with great success - this year's programmes have been developed using the participants’ feedback and the goals they achieved, in addition to Claire’s years of training, professional accreditation and her lifetime of dieting experience. Some participants have gone on to achieve their long-term weight loss goals and continue to successfully maintain their target weight.

Participants can therefore book both packages combined for £198.50, which for 7 weeks’ worth of on-going support and accountability works out at just £28.35 per week - the average cost of takeaway for 2, or the equivalent of a daily posh coffee or a meal deal lunch. Claire believes that people deserve to give themselves this gift at Christmas as it will prevent unwanted weight gain and save time and money in the new year on fad diets, expensive gym memberships and healthy eating/restrictive recipe books!

Claire is one-hundred percent committed to healthy weight management after decades of riding the yo-yo dieting rollercoaster and she knows all too well the pressures that the holidays can put on to people - particularly those already struggling with their weight.
