Wonder Women in tech, a rise in confidence.
Can you name a famous woman in tech? No? You will soon.
The other day Esther Stanhope an international speaker, impact guru & former live BBC producer, was speaking at a fantastic event at the law firm Baker McKenzie – For the Baker Women - Women in Tech.
It was a blast. The room was filled with sparky, intelligent terrific women! All women Esther would like to see more of at conferences, on TV and in the media.
The host, Sue McLean had recently been to a conference where there’d been a survey to see if anyone could name a famous woman-in-tech.
The good news is 8% thought they could (well it’s better than 0%).
The bad news is they could only name ‘Alexa’ and ‘Siri’. The most famous women in tech are…..robots!
Well, not for much longer.
As an IMPACT GURU and speaker Stanhope says 'it’s my mission to make sure women-in-tech get their voices heard and become more visible.'
It takes courage to be visibly brilliant at your job as well as technically brilliant. That’s why Esther helps techie-geniuses to feel the fear and do it anyway – to venture outside their comfort zones and get their voices heard.
Now is the time to be a woman in tech, now is the time to innovate and try new things.
It’s good news for women-in-tech. You only have to look at how the industry is expanding.
Stanhope states 'In my experience there’s been a massive rise in confidence over the past 3 years and I can only see it increasing'
Esther Stanhope is speaking at the fantastic and inspiring Wonder Woman Tech International Conference in London on Friday 15th June. There are speakers from all over the world and the career advice and opportunities for women will be HUGE .
