Celebrities star in Charity Film Awards
A host of celebrities including HRH the Duke of Cambridge, Sir David Attenborough, Rio Ferdinand, Mary Berry, James Purefoy, Sylvie Guillem and Disney’s Baloo the Bear appear in some of the films in this year’s Charity Film Awards.
Celebrating the very best films that have been created for charities in the UK, the Charity Film Awards winners will be announced at a black-tie gala in London, hosted by actress and comedian, Sally Phillips on Friday 26 April.
Over 50,000 members of the public have voted for their favourite charity film to help determine who will win the People’s Choice Award and a high-profile judging panel have selected the finalists.
Out of nearly 400 charities who entered the awards, the finalists represent 50 organisations of all sizes, covering diverse issues like health awareness, medical research, sports, children, the environment, animals, education, arts, culture and international NGOs. Household names like NSPCC, British Red Cross, RSPCA and Macmillan are finalists alongside newer charities like Movember and small charities whose annual turnover is less than £10,000 per year.
Voting is still open online so that members of the public can judge for themselves and cast their vote for The People’s Choice Award. See https://www.charityfilmawards.com/ for further details.
