FSB reacts to Treasury Committee inquiry on the EU

Commenting on today’s announcement that the Treasury Committee is launching an inquiry to look at the economic and financial costs and benefits of UK membership of the EU, John Allan, National Chairman for the Federation of Small Businesses, said:

“We welcome this inquiry by the Treasury Committee and hope it will provide much needed information to inform the EU debate. FSB research launched last month on the UK's membership of the EU was a vital starting point in outlining the key issues and areas of concern for smaller businesses in this debate.

"Our research showed that businesses want clear, impartial information on which to form their views. We hope that this inquiry will help to close the information deficit felt by many businesses on this important issue.

“In the run up to the UK’s referendum on EU membership, the FSB will ensure the small business voice is heard in the discussion, and that our members have all the information they need to make a decision which is right for them and their business.”
