Forum of Private Business welcomes Government announcement to review terms
The Forum of Private Business is welcoming the announcement today by Paul Uppal, the Small Business Commissioner, and Margot James, the Small Firms Minister, that a complaints handling service has been launched by the Small Business Commissioner to focus on unfair payment practices which disadvantage small businesses.
Ian Cass, Managing Director of the Forum of Private Business said, 'Late payment and unfair terms of trade forced onto small businesses by the high street giants frequently cause major cashflow problems for them. The Forum's Hall of Shame, showcasing those corporates demonstrating worst practice, has been in place for several years now, and this albeit overdue action to address the issue is very welcome. Late payment was a key area of discussions when the Forum met with the Commissioner in November and we look forward to working closely with him as the complaints service is established.'
