No Excuse for the Government to ignore the Issues facing Small Businesses as the Brexit Block gets shifted, says FPB
In emphasising that it has no specific political allegiance, the leading business support organisation, the Forum of Private Businesses has welcomed the prospect of an early Brexit outcome, giving businesses some much needed clarity on the way forward as well as the ability for Government to shift from a single focus and move “Beyond Brexit”.
Chief Executive of the Forum, Ian Cass, commented, ' Businesses have been juggling uncertainty for the past three years while our politicians piled delay upon delay and doubt upon doubt. The prospect now of clarity on what Brexit will actually be, achieved in the short term, will be welcome news for most. We now need to ensure that the terms to be negotiated for the relationship with Europe going forward are in the interests of small and medium sized businesses, and that we do not face further prolonged discussions which would only hold back business investment again. We also need to see a shift in government thinking “Beyond Brexit” onto issues like restoring our high streets, better rural support, helping the UK’s pubs, late payment, business rates and creating a fairer more balanced economy across the whole country. At the Forum, we look forward working with Government accordingly"
