The Forum of Private Business Partners with Mental Health Advocates Mente

Members of the Forum of Private Business will now be able to better manage their employees’ mental health needs and to provide ongoing advice and support, following their partnership with mental health advocates Mente.

Ian Cass, Chief Executive of the Forum, explains: “We have already rolled out Mente’s services in our own workplace, and we will now be extending them to members around the country. We believe that in doing so, we can help to create happier and more productive workplaces and a more pleasant working environment for all.”

According to statistics from Mente, around 85 per cent of UK adults experience stress on a regular basis, but less than 40 per cent of firms are equipped to deal with this.

With no mental health policies in place to support these individuals, this leads to 15.4 million working days lost to stress, depression, and anxiety each year, which costs the economy £100 billion per annum.

This is a problem the majority of workplaces recognise, with mental health charity Mind reporting that 56 per cent of employers claim they would do more to improve staff wellbeing if they had the appropriate training and guidance.

This issue is something mental health services provider Mente is determined to tackle. Working alongside businesses to help them implement effective policies and procedures to deal with this crisis, they work tirelessly to improve the safety and wellbeing of those who are struggling in the workplace.

Working together, Mente and The Forum hope to address the issue of mental health in 30,000 workplaces, to help companies to better manage their employees’ needs and to provide ongoing advice and support.
