Manchester fintech firms find new home at the Chamber

Digital financial advice and employee benefits platforms, OpenMoney and WorkLife, have taken up a new home in the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce (GMCC) offices, in a partnership which sees three strong Manchester-focused brands brought together under one roof.

Born and bred in Manchester, OpenMoney and WorkLife are keen to build on their strong presence in Manchester, partnering with GMCC means the firms can further help support and collaborate with local businesses and the Greater Manchester community.

With over 4,200 members, GMCC provides businesses in the Greater Manchester area with a platform to connect with other businesses, communicate their message and create opportunities for a skilled workforce. Based in a stunning grade II-listed building, GMCC also offer affordable and accessible space for meetings and events.

Patrick Leahy, CEO for OpenMoney and WorkLife said: “Manchester is our home and it’s our community. When we were looking for a new office, there was no question of it not being here. We want to work more closely with local businesses and being a part of the GMCC network has really helped with that and hope we can extend this further now that we’re all under one roof!”

Lewis Crowe, Head of Membership & Commercial at Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce said: "We’re thrilled to be welcoming the OpenMoney and WorkLife staff to the Chamber as our newest tenants. We are keen to further develop Elliot House as a home for various businesses - whether this is through our office space offering, our venue or our Members Lounge. We are delighted about this addition to our community and look forward to work together going forwards."

About OpenMoney

OpenMoney is here to make financial advice affordable and accessible to everyone. We initially launched under the name of evestor in 2017, offering both an advised & non-advised service. In 2019, we split the offerings and announced OpenMoney as our core advice brand. We’ve expanded further into Mortgages, where we offer free mortgage advice, and WorkLife Benefits, our employee benefits platform.

Traditionally, receiving advice from a financial adviser is expensive and inaccessible to those in financial difficulty; who arguably need it the most. We’re trying to bridge this ‘Advice Gap’ by integrating sophisticated technology and algorithms, alongside conversation with our qualified financial advisers to offer a tailored service that is affordable for all.

About WorkLife

Powered by OpenMoney, WorkLife is a digital platform on a mission to help businesses of all sizes to improve employee wellbeing. And in so doing, improve their retention and attraction of talent.

Top of the range financial wellbeing services are core to WorkLife’s proposition. It combines regulated financial advice and market-leading benefits with low cost and transparent fees, allowing SMEs to reward their employees with the same great perks as those traditionally only enjoyed by employees at larger companies. The platform enables companies to take an holistic approach to employee wellbeing, making sure they are covered across all the financial, mental, social, physical and environmental aspects of their life.
