Furniture company reaffirms commitment to quality ahead of World Quality Day

Word Quality Day, which falls on November 8, raises the profile of work excellence every year, and highlights the positive impact of quality on a wide range of organisations across the world.

Quality is about trust, and the international day celebrates the role everyone in an organisation can play in developing and maintaining that trust.

One company that will be celebrating the occasion, which falls on the second Thursday in November annually, is handmade furniture company Grain.

Grain’s co-founder Robin Tyler said: “This is the perfect chance for us to reaffirm our commitment to the quality of the furniture we produce. It’s also about celebrating everything we as an organisation have achieved to date.”

Grain’s work is about using modern technology to create handmade furniture that’s customised to a client’s particular needs, and made individually by a genuine craftsman but sold at High Street prices.

The business’s range of modern designs can be tailored to a customer’s precise size specifications, and is offered in a range of different woods to suit varied styles and budgets.

Individual requirements can be made online using a web-based customiser, and then the piece that has been ordered can be made in the company’s London workshop. The range covers anything from a chopping board to a dining table.

Tyler added: “We’re looking forward to this year's World Quality Day. It’s a great reminder of the need to take quality seriously, which we do by testing rigorously, by believing firmly in sustainability and by combining new technology with traditional craftsmanship.”
