Spreading the love this Valentine’s day: How a Sussex bakery is championing love in its fullest form, by asking people to nominate their nearest and dearest to receive some delicious prizes

Piglet’s Pantry started life ten years ago as the supplier of match-day pies at Brighton & Hove Albion football club, and over time, the Sussex-based bakery has become a thriving supplier of baked goods for large venues and events across the country, including the Brighton Amex Stadium, the Oval and Portsmouth Football Club.

At the start of the pandemic in 2020, Piglet’s Pantry began delivering afternoon teas and treats directly to the doorsteps of hungry customers across the UK. Due to popular demand, the Piglet’s Pantry seasonal collections were born. The latest collection of treats, curated by the Piglet’s Pantry in-house chefs, is the Made With Love Collection, in celebration of Valentine’s Day.

The collection includes the Made With Love Ultimate Hamper filled with a selection of Piglet’s Pantry sweet canapes, handmade beef brisket and smoked applewood cheese quiches, mouthwatering Valentine’s Day cupcakes and an afternoon tea for two. This is available as a vegetarian or vegan option, plus comes as a Little Piglet’s Made With Love Afternoon Tea, so younger family members don’t have to miss out.

Founder of Piglet’s Pantry, Jo Hunter, said: “The Made With Love Valentine’s Day collection is our most decadent, luxurious range yet. Including special ingredients like Valrhona chocolate, and smoked applewood cheese, we choose very carefully what goes into each Piglet’s product. A lot of time and care goes into developing and handcrafting each and every treat. We are extremely proud of this latest collection.”

Love, care and appreciation are core values of the Piglet’s Pantry brand and this Valentine’s Day, the team are championing love in its fullest form. This means encouraging Piglet’s Pantry customers and followers to show gratitude to everyone that we love - not just our significant others.

Until the 4th of February, followers of the Piglet’s Pantry Facebook and Instagram pages are being asked to nominate someone who they love and are deserving of a treat to brighten their Valentine’s Day. A handful of lucky nominees will then receive a delivery of Piglet’s Pantry goodies, straight to their front door, just in time for the 14th February.

Jo said: “Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to just be for people with significant others. It doesn’t matter if you’re single, loved up, or want to celebrate the love that you have for your friends, Valentine’s Day is for you.

I’ve always wanted to make sure Piglet’s Pantry continues to give back to the community and to our customers wherever possible, which is why we’re delighted to help brighten people’s Valentine’s Day, with a selection of surprise Piglet’s Pantry goodies.”
