Mumtrepeneur Launches Subscription Service to Aid Baby Brain Development Through Play

Ahlam, a former school teacher has launched Grow With Me, a monthly subscription box which supplies mothers and their babies with research based toys that encourage bonding, spark creativity and stimulate brain development all through play.

The first few years of a baby’s life lay the foundation for everything to come, with 80% of brain development occurring in the first 3 years. Stimulating a baby's brain is imperative for their development, with experts such as Dr Cheryl Porter warning that a lack of stimulation can lead to poor brain development.

Coming from a career that promotes a love of learning and encourages young minds to grow, Ahlam was excited to explore this with her own daughter. She searched for toys and activities, but soon found it difficult to find the time to upkeep the research and purchases. This in addition to the trials of motherhood took a toll on her mental health. She began to feel guilty for not being able to fit in the time to regularly stimulate her young daughters growing mind.

Ahlam turned to look for a baby subscription service that would provide her with the research and age appropriate toys on a regular basis, so it would be one less thing she had to worry about and was surprised when she couldn’t find what she was looking for. She soon realised that other parents were also struggling to find this service which contributed to their ‘parent guilt’, something parents know all too well about.

This is when Grow With Me was born! A subscription service that provides parents and babies with toys on a monthly basis, currently catering for up to 12 months old. There are plans to expand the age range to 24 months in the near future. The box costs £29.99/mth; including 4-6 age appropriate toys/books.

By doing so, Ahlam has created a community via social media, interacting with her followers and subscribers. Sharing parenting tips, advice and the progress they’re making with their little ones. Her ambitious vision is for all infants to reach their full potential, with the first few years being the most important and often ignored part of their development. She also hopes that by providing this service it will remove one thing off a parents mind so they can focus on loving and caring for their baby. She wants parents to know that they are not alone. After all, it takes a village to raise a child and Grow With Me is a modern part of that village.
