Harris's Hog Roast Comes to Beccles and Dereham!

Tis the season for big Christmas light switch-ons, as towns up and down the country add a little festive sparkle to their High Streets. For many this is a chance not only to see the twinkling lights but also to sample some quality local fare and soak up the Christmas atmosphere.

The Diss Christmas switch-on took place last week, and aside from the illuminations, there was another star attraction – Harris’s Hog Roast. Among all the stalls and events taking place, the rich barbecue aromas of a hog roast certainly got those who came along talking and eating.

Harris’s Hog Roast owner, David Harris, served up some classics which took the chill off the November air, but if you missed the Diss Christmas switch-on then there’s still time to visit the hog roast at the upcoming Beccles and Dereham events.

This year’s Beccles Christmas lights switch-on takes place on 30th November and will be hosted by acclaimed singer Fiona Harber. The event in Dereham will be happening on Sunday 2nd December, and thousands of people are expected to take to the streets for both big events.

Speaking ahead of a long weekend of festivities, David Harris said: “Food is such an important part of the Christmas period, and few things are so comforting as a good roast. I was thrilled to have a stall at the Diss Christmas lights switch-on and I’m sure the atmosphere in Dereham and Beccles will be every bit as exciting.

“Christmas just isn’t Christmas without good food, so come and share the magic! If you’re in town to see the lights go on, then we’d love to see you at the Harris’s Hog Roast stand.”

Last years switch-ons were extremely popular, particularly with local families, and generated considerable interest and support for local businesses such as Harris’s Hog Roast.
