Fundraising Golf Day returns with a swing.

Haslemere Educational Museum Golf Day 2021 took place on Friday 10th at Chiddingfold Golf

Course. This annual fundraising event was like so many, cancelled last year due to the global pandemic and so the return to the fairways was very welcome.

Players enjoyed a bacon buttie in the clubhouse to begin with. They then went out and played 18 holes of great golf, with a glass of bubbles and shortbread at the 10th hole courtesy of the Museum President Melanie Odell and Curator Julia Tanner. Players also enjoyed a sandwich lunch as part of the day. Seven teams battled it out on the greens and the Old Thorn Seniors team won the event.

Museum Trustee and Organiser Clive Reay said “After a two year absence due to Covid, a very successful Golf Day was held at Chiddingfold Golf Club on 10 September. A fun day was had by all, the 28 golfers attending for the day raising almost £1000 for Museum funds.

The team prize was won by golfers from Old Thorns Seniors with the Comrades Club a close second. Well done and thanks to all involved”

As an independent charity, Haslemere Museum relies on membership, donations, legacies and grants. Fundraising events form a key part of the strategy and as such the Museum are delighted that restrictions have been lifted and things are getting back on track.
