Small Businesses need to influence the media right now to achieve a smooth lockdown release
JournoLink, the online PR platform supporting thousands of businesses, PR freelancers and agencies, is highlighting the critical importance of the country’s small and micro businesses making their voices heard in the media as we approach lockdown release on 19 July.
With latest data indicating that nearly two companies a minute are being registered in the UK, the power and importance of the small business voice cannot be ignored.
Independent Retailer Month runs throughout all of July and businesses, which are the bedrock of the community, have the opportunity to seize some of the agenda from the current political fall-out, and the Euros, and put the value that small businesses bring to the economy into the headlines.
According to JournoLink Director Tet Kofi, a working journalist himself, “Local journalists in particular are desperate for local hero business good news stories. They, as much as anyone, want to see their local areas recovering and returning to normal, and are keen to promote the successes in their regions. Now is precisely the time for businesses to be sharing their news….how they have survived the pandemic, how their business models have changed, and simply, what they are doing to make a difference to their high street.”
The JournoLink platform is designed for budget conscious small businesses to engage with the media, and to recognise Independent Retailer Month a dedicated package is available during July to any business new to PR, designed to take all the heavy lifting off the shoulders of the businesses allowing them to focus on the main job of getting up and running again.
JournoLink founder, Peter Ibbetson commented, “Independent small businesses have the opportunity to bring some real positivity into the return to normality, but often need a helping hand when it comes to promoting themselves in the media. That’s exactly what we are looking to provide with the JournoLink initiative during July, and we hope to support as many independents as possible, swapping the cost of their daily cup of coffee for PR exposure.”
JournoLink is the leading online platform serving small businesses and the professionals that support them, providing targeted press release distribution, and contact with journalists, from the BBC to bloggers, looking for business case studies for articles they are writing.
