KeyNest and Wishbox announce global integration to fully automate short-term rental and Airbnb check-ins

- KeyNest and Wishbox have announced their integration.

- The integration allows short-term rental property managers to fully automate check-ins and the surrounding communication, from booking through to arrival.

- The integration is the first of its kind and has already been deployed in hundreds of properties across Europe.

Key exchange company KeyNest and guest experience platform Wishbox have today announced their integration, in a move that will fully automate self check-in operations and communication for hundreds of property managers across Europe who are already using KeyNest and Wishbox.

Wishbox and KeyNest users are now able to link their accounts and automatically generate collection codes for their KeyNest keys by assigning a key to a particular rental on Wishbox. The key collection details will then be shared with the guest through Wishbox and email, allowing hosts to provide property access remotely. Providing guests with a self check-in option is one of the requirements for making properties eligible for Airbnb for Work, Airbnb’s collection of properties considered suitable for business travellers. This is being seen as increasingly important by property managers working in cities such as New York, London and Paris.

The move not only means that guests will have a smoother check-in experience, but also that the process is entirely automated for hosts. This saves several hours per week that would otherwise be spent manually copying information back and forth between KeyNest and Wishbox.

After the guest has checked in, Wishbox can be used to provide guests with a house manual explaining house rules, recommendations for food and activities in the local area, and provide services such as luggage storage and transport. The integration is the first for both companies that is not with a property management software, and represents the further professionalisation of the short-term rental industry.

Commenting on the integration, KeyNest co-founder Marc Figueras said “Automating routine tasks is extremely important to our customers as it enables them to stay profitable in this very competitive environment. We’re delighted to partner with Wishbox to automate the self check-in all the way, delivering the best possible experience for the guest.”

David Mezuman, Wishbox CEO, added “We’re very excited to have integrated with our first check-in solution. Our aim is to allow hosts to provide guests with a great experience from the start of their stay right up until the end, and integrating with KeyNest will help this to happen by ensuring the check-in process is as smooth as possible.”
