Practical or futuristic? How Marketers are using AI for business growth

The Colchester Marketing Meetup brings to Colchester an event that is expected to book up fast - Using AI to Defend Against Competition & Strategising From Your Castle. The event takes place on the 30th September 6.30 PM at the Innovation Centre Knowledge Gateway.

AI for marketing is one of the hottest topics at the moment - What is AI and how can marketers use it to their advantage? The free event is set to combine the AI expertise of specialist keynote speaker Ashley Fletcher from Adthena and the input from a guest panel, which includes people from academia, and businesses involved with AI projects at different stages in their lifecycle.

“Collaboration can be a catalyst for growth,” commented Kim Moore. “That’s why we got behind the Marketing Meetup, because as a community, it encourages collaboration and knowledge sharing, rather than ‘selling’. Our other sponsors also share similar values. We want to work with other businesses who want to bring like-minded people together and encourage collaboration. With so many different resources available in Colchester, the opportunities to work with partners who can support new growth projects, contribute new skills and abilities which complement your own and help you achieve your own goals are phenomenal. AI is one topic and area for collaboration. At KG Moore, our role is to help ensure the voice of the customer is heard. As for AI projects, we want to help companies solve real problems using AI and while doing so, improve customer experience.”

Our sponsor of the event EIRA also focus on using AI to develop and connect businesses. Funded by Research England and led by the University of Essex, the organisation connects businesses with academic expertise, consultancy, facilities and funding opportunities across the areas of digital creative, artificial intelligence and biotechnology.

“We are pleased to support this event as it is focussing on AI and collaboration as tools for business growth –two things fundamental to EIRA.” Emma Wakeling, EIRA Knowledge Exchange Manager.

Similarly, the Innovation Centre Knowledge Gateway is determined to push the boundaries when it comes to partnering with organisations who are experts in their fields.

“We are delighted to be holding the Colchester marketing meetup here at The Innovation Centre, Knowledge Gateway with Kim Moore and her team. The topic of AI is really relevant to all types of businesses and how the data driven marketing side can provide insights, practical guidance and deliver results for start-up, scale ups and SMEs.We are excited to see how this meetup develops over the coming months “ commented Neil Griffin from the Innovation Centre Knowledge Gateway.

The collaboration between the different sponsors of the Colchester Marketing Meetup is designed to provide attendees with the opportunity to learn more about the different resources and support which is available to them through the university and their different programmes. Similarly, the panel discussion is designed to encourage the audience to consider their current usage and opinions of AI for marketing.

The Marketing Meetup runs free monthly events in ten locations across the UK. Each event involves a talk from an expert speaker in their field and connecting with other local business owners and marketers. The Colchester Marketing Meetup, sponsored and run by KG Moore, also includes a panel discussion which further promotes the themes of growth and learning. The community was created with two goals in mind; to create a new way of networking which focuses on connecting with like-minded people, and learning more about relevant Marketing topics.

The next Colchester Marketing Meetup will take place on September 30th 2019, with the Innovation Centre’s facilities being used to host the panel discussion and networking.

Sponsors include, KG Moore, Innovation Centre Knowledge Gateway, EIRA and Brand Recruitment- a top level marketing recruitment company and returning sponsors of the meetup.

The Panel will be made up of Ashley Fletcher from Adthena and Dr Maged Ali, Senior Lecturer, Management and Marketing, Essex Business School, with other names to be confirmed nearer the time.
