K N Walford Consultancy highlights charity giving on Red Nose Day

With Red Nose Day hitting our TV screens this evening, the KN Walford Consultancy (KNWC) has said Comic Relief offers the perfect chance to think about charitable giving.

Owner of KNWC Kemar Walford has more than a decade’s experience in the sector. He says: “Comic Relief is, of course, one of our great charity telethons, and we all look forward to and enjoy the comedy and sense of fun. But it’s worth remembering the serious purpose behind efforts such as Red Nose Day.

“And it could be a chance for you to rethink what money you give to good causes, and whether you are supporting the charities you want to, in the way you want to, or whether you could perhaps afford to donate more. So people could think beyond the fancy dress costume or what their children are going to take to the school bake sale.

“Equally, it could provide the chance for charities themselves to think about their fundraising efforts and whether they're maximising donations effectively.“

KNWC offers a range of support services in the growingly competitive areas of trust, grant and foundation funding. It aims to help with bid writing, reviews and edits fundraising applications and also provides organisation coaching and project development training.

There is a particular focus on smaller charities, who may not be able to afford direct support.

Comic Relief was founded in the mid-1980s by Richard Curtis and Lenny Henry as a response to the Ethiopian famine. Red Nose Day is held every two years.
