UK retailer Lily Arkwright experiences a surge in weekday sales during the Covid pandemic
SALES figures suggest growing weekday interest in ethical, sustainable jewellery as customers have more flexibility to shop as they work from home.
Lily Arkwright, a company specialising in lab-grown diamond engagement rings and bridal jewellery, have seen an increase in key metrics such as customer queries, sales and interactions, during weekdays. The online retailer released its annual "Look Back" Consumer Report highlights this change is consumer habits.
It was found that customer trends moved away from the standard evening and weekend shopping times, in favour of the weekday, between the hours of 9 am-5:30 pm. All KPI segments indicate that consumers are benefitting from work freedom to shop during what was once considered “normal office hours”. This gives customers more flexibility to shop during the week.
Philip Dawson, the managing director for Lily Arkwright said: “This is the fourth year we’ve published our annual consumer trends report and it’s fascinating to see how consumer habits continue to morph and change.
“2021, similar to 2020 was heavily impacted by the Covid pandemic and what is now becoming clear is that consumers are perhaps finding a better life balance to be able to shop during conventional work hours whilst enjoying the weekends and evenings for rest and relaxation.”
