Glitter brand urges music fans to add sparkle not litter to festivals this summer

Norwich-based collective No-Litter Eco-Glitter, producers of LOOMI Glitter, is urging music fans to pack its environmentally-friendly product as they head off to hear their favourite bands at festivals over the summer.

Owner James Allen said: “Festivals are wonderful and we hope everyone attending them up and down the country this summer has a fantastic time. There are some big ones still to come this year, including Reading and Leeds.

“But it’s worth thinking of the possible environmental impacts of these events, which can generate a lot of litter and single-use plastics. There are many things festival-goers can do to reduce that, even in small ways. It would be great if no one left any rubbish behind, for example.

“Our litter can easily be slipped into a rucksack, and will do nothing to damage the environment. It will, however, add plenty of sparkle to the festival experience! Standard glitter just lingers and has to be cleared up and could well end up in landfill."

The brand’s glitter is sold in a biodegradable pot, and is made using materials which can be recycled. You can also store it indefinitely since no light can get in to take the shine off the glitter. What’s more, the pot itself can also be used more than once.

At the same time, the product does not contain any animal products, nor does LOOMI ever test on them. It’s made using plant cellulose, and quickly returns to the ecosystem. You could also pop it in your home compost system when you’ve finished with it.
