Match MADE in heaven as Sage sponsors major Entrepreneur Festival in Sheffield

Sage, the business software and services provider, is to be the headline sponsor at the 2014 MADE Festival, taking place in Sheffield on the 24th and 25th September.

The conference is aimed at early stage and growing businesses, as well as those people thinking about starting a business. Attendees will hear from some of Britain’s most successful entrepreneurs, including Reggae Reggae Sauce founder Levi Roots, the lady behind Ultimo, Michelle Mone and SBTV founder Jamal Edwards. The conference offers the perfect combination of advice and guidance from these leading entrepreneurs and local business success stories from Sheffield, Yorkshire and the North of England, including Sage, which has its global headquarters in Newcastle upon Tyne.

As one of Britain’s biggest business success stories with more than 800,000 customers in the UK, many of which are small businesses, Sage is perfectly placed to provide insight on the challenges facing small business owners and how technology can help overcome them. Modern technology means you can start and run a business from anywhere with an Internet connection, especially with cloud-based software like Sage One Accounts and Payroll and Sage Pay.

From developing a business idea and launching a new product or service, through to business technology and compliance, Sage’s team of experts will be on hand to help over the two day event. This could include understanding the possibilities of running a business in the cloud, taking on your first employee and even the implications of legislative changes such as Real Time Information (RTI) for PAYE and Auto Enrolment of Workplace Pensions.

Claire Carter, General Manager of Sage One commented:

“There has never been a better time to start a business. Whether you’re launching a business from your bedroom or a tech start-up with global ambition, all you need is a laptop or PC, tablet or smartphone, an Internet connection to run your business. Simple and low-cost cloud software like Sage One and Sage Pay also gives you all the insight and control you need to stay on top of finances anytime, anywhere. That level of control is priceless, and is enabling people to manage their ventures on their terms.”

“With more people than ever thinking of starting a business, we need to help ensure entrepreneurs are equipped with the best tools, advice and guidance to succeed. That is why we are proud sponsors at this year’s MADE festival,” added Carter.

As part of its sponsorship of the festival, Sage is offering all delegates a free trial of Sage One Accounts and Payroll as well as the chance to purchase it for 50% off if they sign up before the end of September.

Alastair MacColl, Chief Executive of the BE Group, the delivery partner for MADE, also commented:

“With this year’s conference set to be bigger than ever, we are delighted to have Sage as our headline sponsors. The Sage One Accounts and Payroll software is a smart piece of technology that is transforming how people set-up and run their business. Having the backing of a proven national powerhouse such as Sage is a confidence boost to anyone thinking of starting a business.”

In addition to the main conference, Sage is also sponsoring the ‘Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year Award’ which will be announced at MADE Gala Dinner on Thursday 25th September. Sage will also be hosting its own fringe event at Electric Works on Friday 26th, which will feature motivational speaker and MD of 4Networking Brad Burton, and micro enterprise champions Tina Boden of Enterprise Rockers and Tony Robinson OBE.
