Mesh Energy wins 2019 National Energy Efficiency Award

BBC’s Dan Walker hosts, Hollywood actor & TV star James Nesbitt OBE presents awards

Mesh delivers 95% average CO2 reduction in house building projects and 600% ROI

Farnham, Surrey - Independent renewable energy consultancy Mesh Energy has won the Energy Consultancy of the Year title at the 2019 National Energy Efficiency Awards.

The ceremony, at the Vox Conference Centre Birmingham on 27th September, was hosted by BBC Breakfast host and sports presenter Dan Walker, with the awards presented by Hollywood actor and TV star James Nesbitt OBE.

The Awards recognise excellent work by companies in the energy efficiency sector and encourage best practice to improve UK housing stock. From a field of more than 20 contenders, Mesh took the National Award, having already won the South East Regional title in May.

“The way we interact with architects and our clients is really unique and game changing,” said Doug Johnson, managing director, Mesh Energy. “Our approach allows more projects to achieve genuine, low energy success, and creates places to be proud of for generations to come. The Energy Efficiency Awards recognise this core mission to lead the field and affect lasting change in our sector.”

Judges were looking for demonstrable skills, expertise and quality of service from nominees. The panel said, “Mesh went into great detail about the work they do and the detailed approach they take in getting where they need to. They clearly understand their customers and make efforts to tailor their work to them.”

Based on data from its last 15 completed new build projects, Mesh has delivered a 95% average CO2 reduction and an average return on investment of 600%, equivalent to £6 saved for every £1 spent on consultancy. Based in Farnham, Surrey, Mesh works with architects and clients on energy efficient home construction and refurbishment projects nationwide.

“The team at Mesh remain committed to understanding our clients in detail and delivering bespoke and unique solutions to help them reduce their building energy usage,” said Johnson.

Mesh guides customers from project conception to completion, including initial ideas about building energy usage and fabric improvement, appropriate energy efficient product and technology selection, and detailed design and installation recommendations and tendering.

The National Energy Efficiency Awards are open to anyone involved in the energy saving and efficiency sector in the UK.
