MettaLife has always recommended the use of eco-friendly packaging wherever possible, but after realising not all vegan brands onboard were adhering to this, a decision was made to make this a requirement.
Sharon Hemmings co-founder of MettaLife commented ‘’For us to go completely green means a change in who we invite to join our vegan marketplace. Only brands using 100% eco-friendly, bio-degradable, and/or recyclable packaging will be found on MettaLife. Unfortunately, we have had to say goodbye to several brands, but will welcome them back once they have the eco packaging requirement’’
With widespread media coverage and increasing awareness of eco-friendly packaging, it is becoming more of a necessity now rather than a desire amongst consumers. This is the reason MettaLife has made the decision for change now.
