Innovative Sheffield Tech Company in the running for Electric Vehicle Start-Up of the Year
[For immediate release]
Sheffield-based Electric Vehicle (EV) tech start-up Mina Energy have been selected as a finalist for the Electric Vehicle Innovation and Excellence Awards (EVIEs) in the innovative ‘EV start up business of the year for 2020’ category.
As the world's leading event series driving collaboration, innovation and creating new partnerships in the EV space, The EVIEs showcase excellence and innovation within the emerging EV sector, awarding those who are changing the way we live, work and travel to make our roads smarter and safer and our air cleaner.
Award categories include: Chargepoint Manufacturer of the year, Fleet Electrification Strategy of the Year and Best New Product or Service.
Founders Ashley Tate and Chris Dalrymple started Mina with a clear goal in mind - making it easy to charge electric vehicles (EVs). For both new entrants to the EV world, seasoned electric converts, and fleet operators alike, the current infrastructure around EV charging is fragmented and unnecessarily complicated. At Mina, they aim to remove the complexity and make things simple.
For EV owners, this means making home chargers affordable and energy tariffs easy to understand. For fleet operators, it means making it simple to pay back employees for the energy they’ve used when charging at home and taking the headache out of installing chargers in employees homes.
The ‘EV Start-Up Business of the year’ award is specially designed to celebrate the achievements of start-up companies and new entrants to the EV market, and co-founder Chris said; “This feels like the icing on the cake for an incredible first 12 months for Mina. To be shortlisted alongside some brilliant startups, especially those who have been around a lot longer than us, is a great achievement. I'm really proud of the whole team, and have fingers crossed for the final!”
For Mina Energy, this nomination is the culmination of an exciting year; securing financial investments of over £350k, partnering with Mitie green fleets, a new central Sheffield office location and welcoming talented new team members and advisors to the growing company.
The future is certainly electric!
